Stockert GmbH is again among the most innovative small and medium-sized businesses in 2019.
At the beginning of October, Stockert GmbH was awarded 19th place in the competition ‘Deutschlands innovativste Mittelständer 2019’ (‘Germany’s most innovative small and medium-sized businesses in 2019’). Business magazine, Wirtschaftswoche, partnered with consulting firm, Munich Strategy Group (MSG) to analyse several thousand small and medium-sized companies and award them an innovation score. To do this, they looked at trends in sales and profits and the extent to which the companies stand out on account of their ongoing innovations and are regarded as innovative within their industry by customers, the media and competitors. The company had already been given this innovation award in 2017.
“Stockert GmbH is the complete ‘Made in Germany’ quality promise wrapped up in one company: It combines ‘German Engineering’ at the highest level with reliability and precision and develops intuitive technology for doctors and those assisting them in life-threatening situations. The company demonstrates innovative capacity in various aspects: in product development by working closely with institutes and clinics, in production through an optimised ‘lean production’ approach and an innovative service concept […].”, emphasises Dr Sebastian Theopold, founder of MSG. And that’s clearly what particularly impressed the judging panel again about our company. SmartAblate enables careful and effective treatment of many types of cardiac arrhythmia: Minimally invasive surgical procedures are undertaken to insert flexible catheters into the patient’s groin which are then threaded through the blood vessels directly to the heart. The origin of the arrhythmia can be located by measuring electrical signals at the catheter tip. SmartAblate allows the tissue responsible to be selectively removed using radiofrequency so that the heart can regain its proper rhythm. Treatment using the SmartAblate makes treatment easier and patients recover much faster. “The procedure replaces open-heart surgery in many cases,” the judging panel noted, impressed.
In addition to innovative products, Stockert also offers exceptional services. “We look to ensure approval on all markets,” explains General Manager and CEO Klaus Welte. The route to gaining approval is typically an extremely lengthy process, as medical device guidelines in the US and European markets are extremely strict. We took the approval procedures into our own hands at an early stage of product development and this has paid off particularly for our sales partners.
Since its market launch in 2012, the SmartAblate has firmly established itself in all major markets and made us the global market leader for RF ablation systems in cardiology.
For a long time, the Freiburg-based company has attached great importance to a flat corporate structure that enables creativity and pioneering achievements in all departments. “Keeping our finger on the pulse is an essential part of our philosophy”, explains Klaus Welte with his just under 90 colleagues.
